Ferrari : V4 superbike

Israeli industrial designer Amir Glinik has come up with an incredible Ferrari motorcycle concept using a modified engine from the Ferrari Enzo supercar. Using drive-by-wire technology, the V4 superbike features hand controls adapted from an F-16 fighter jet and buttons based on those found on the steering wheel of Ferrari’s Formula 1 racecars. Other controls for the sound system and trip computer are located on an all weather touchscreen.

“Vintage and modern Ferrari projects influence my design,” Glinik notes. “It’s a mix of what I find to be the best Ferrari lines with the latest technology I could think of in terms of engine, gear and driving management.” He has also made a version in bright yellow. As far as how fast it goes and how much the bike would cost, we can only speculate about very big numbers in both cases. We have no idea if Glinik’s V4, which he’s been working on for the past few years, will ever reach the production stage, but we think he’s got a real winner here.

The Piaggio Story

Piaggio came into existence in Sestri Ponente in the industrial periphery of Genoa in 1884. Situated beside the Odero shipyard, it soon became the most sought-after ship-fitting company in the area.
Rinaldo Piaggio (1864-1938) was just 20 years old when, on 10 October 1884, he signed the deed that set up Piaggio & C., a company formed together with a sculptor (Pietro Costa), an arms manufacturer (Giuseppe Piaggio) and a fourth partner who was simply defined "a property owner" (Giacomo Pastorino). Rinaldo was the son of Enrico, a local merchant who owned a timber sawmill, classified "by steam operation" in 1882 and, as such, among Genoa's most modern mechanised installations.
A mere three years later, in 1887, the production area would no longer do. The factory expanded, while the company's cabinet-makers were producing fittings for some of the finest Italian and foreign ships of the late 19th century. It was a very significant period in Italian history. The country was just taking off industrially, its start having come later than that of the major European nations. In this phase, there was plenty of room for people with ability and a spirit of enterprise, qualities in which Rinaldo Piaggio certainly wasn't lacking. Having divested himself of his business partners, he went ahead on his own, branching out into the railways, the most innovative sector of the time with excellent growth prospects. Here, too, significant new barriers were quickly crossed and major contracts were signed at home as well as abroad, including the royal train built in the early 1920s and the production of electric trains for which Piaggio took out a welding patent in Italy.
The MC2 at the entrance to the museum, unearthed at the Calabro-lucane railway, is an extraordinary sample of this period. Once again Rinaldo Piaggio found that the Sestri plant could not contain his dynamism. In 1901 the first steps towards the acquisition of a factory in Finale Ligure were taken and in 1903 it was finally purchased.

Piaggio MP3 500, 2009

The three wheel revolution progresses even further with the MP3 500. With aggressive styling and performance, the Piaggio MP3 500 is the three-wheeler for people who want to stand out. ‘Safe fun’ is no longer an oxymoron. Riding has never been this easy, enjoyable and secure. Two front wheels and a revolutionary parallelogram front suspension together with the new double ignition Master 500ie engine give the MP3 500 very racy performance while remaining exceptionally safe.

Design
The MP3 500’s innovative looks are striking. The front end of the MP3 500 has a decisive shape that expresses strength and character and hints at the incredible performance of the all-new 492cc single cylinder engine. The front two wheels are marked by a steel tube bumper with metal mesh inserts that give the vehicle a rugged look. The front design protects the rider and the mechanicals while putting the unique front suspension technology on display. Other touches are the sleek ‘naked’ metal handlebar and black ten-spoke wheel rims. The five-lamp headlight unit is not only striking to look at but highly effective as well; the two biggest lamps are equipped with off-road-style shockproof covers. The front fairing and front shield fairing offer remarkable aerodynamic protection. There is a wide, comfortable footrest panel behind the front shield fairing.

The tail design is stark and minimalist, a mix of plastics and tubes that picks up on the styling of the front with a very useful rear rack, while the wide, comfortable seat ensures total comfort for both rider and passenger thanks to its ergonomic design and negligible height difference between the two parts of the seat.

A thrilling ride
But there’s more than design to the personality of the MP3 500. The latest product from the Piaggio brand boasts top engine performance, ideally backed up by revolutionary running gear to provide astonishing ride quality. The Piaggio MP3 500 streaks away from traffic lights and takes all kinds of terrain in its stride, handling twisty mountain roads and long rides in all safety whatever the weather conditions thanks to its two front wheels commanded by an extraordinary parallelogram front suspension. This revolutionary technical set-up ensures impeccable road holding in all riding conditions, with stability and braking power that no conventional scooter can provide.

Technology
The steel tube frame conceals the powerful, reliable new Master 500 i.e. double ignition engine, a four-valve, four-stroke unit with electronic injection and liquid cooling. The capacity of the new Master engine has been upped to 492cc to obtain maximum power of 40 hp at 7,250 rpm and maximum torque of over 42 Nm at 5,500 rpm. The introduction of the twin spark system has also made it possible to optimize combustion inside the cylinder, with a reduction in noise and gas emissions. The result is a smooth, high-performance engine, very torquey at low and medium range rpm, that takes the Piaggio MP3 500 to a top speed of nearly 90 mph while fully respecting U.S. emissions standards thanks to the advanced closed loop injection circuit with a Lambda sensor and three-way catalytic converter in the exhaust pipe.

The engine’s power is skillfully managed by the sophisticated running gear. The innovative parallelogram front suspension’s tilt mechanism is composed of four cast aluminum arms, with four hinges fixed to the central tube and two guide tubes on either side of the parallelogram, connected to the arms via suspension pins and ball bearings. This means that the Piaggio MP3 500 is as easy to ride as a traditional scooter, while its incredible stability, especially when cornering and braking, comes from its two front wheels.

Standard equipment includes an electro-hydraulic front suspension locking system that keeps the MP3 500 upright without a central stand. This makes it extremely easy to park anywhere. What’s more, there’s no need to put your feet on the ground to keep your balance when stopped at a traffic light.

Optimal rear end stability is guaranteed by a 14” rear wheel with a generous 140/70 tire, while three 240mm disk brakes with dual-piston calipers ensure fast, efficient braking.

With its strong personality, aggressive design and cutting-edge technology, this three-wheeler is ready to ride into uncharted territory.

Innovation goes extreme in this MP3, with it’s 500cc, electronic injection Master engine.
The MP3’s revolutionary parallelogram front suspension ensures impeccable road holding
in all riding conditions.

Yamaha Rhino

Yamaha Rhino 700 FI 4x4 Special Edition Deluxe

The Yamaha Rhino 700 is a powerful, versatile, and easy to ride off road machine with side-by-side seating for two. With ride comfort better tham most ATVs, why sit behind someone with a view of their head, when you can sit comfortably beside them with a view of everything around you.
The Special Edition Deluxe Rhino 700 comes fully loaded with custom water-dip paint, piggy-back clicker shocks, a sporty sun top and rugged over fenders. No other side by side vehicle delivers a charge like this: you get unsurpassed power, handling versatility and convenience.

Features and Benefits:

The Rhino 700 is powered by a fuel injected 686cc 4-stroke engine, similar to the one found in the Grizzly 700. With fuel injection you get better cold starting, and super crisp throttle response. This engine also features roller bearing rocker arms for reduced friction and improved engine performance, with a forged piston and a carburized Chrome-Moly connecting rod for
improved durability.

Fully automatic Ultramatic transmission is the most advanced drive system in the ORV world. Not only is it simple to use select a forward gear, step on the gas pedal and go, but it also provides full engine braking to reduce brake wear.
The Ultramatic CVT system uses a special clutch design, which reduces belt wear since the belt is under constant tension. This system provides superior no-slip performance and significantly reduces belt wear.

Push-button servo-controlled "On-Command" system allows you to switch between 2WD, limited-slip 4WD and fully locked differential 4WD - all with the simple push of a dash mounted button. Real 4-wheel drive when you need it.
With Diff-lock engaged, there's no need to wait for one wheel to spin.
You have traction to all 4 wheels, immediately. This puts you in total control... you decide when you need 4 wheel drive... the machine doesn't decide for you.

Light, responsive rack and pinion steering features a fully sealed steering column and double u-jointed steering linkage for smooth action.

A single automotive-style brake pedal activates the dual front and rear disc brakes. This 4 wheel hydraulic disc brake system provides outstanding stopping performance in a variety of conditions. All four discs are tucked out of the way to prevent damage from rocks or stumps.
A mechanical console mounted parking brake with an automotive style lever features a dash
mounted warning light to avoid operating the unit with the parking brake engaged.

Large-capacity aluminum radiator with fan-assist delivers maximum cooling efficiency and is positioned high in the frame for optimal protection.

The air box is now up under the engine cover, located high and out of the way, with the crankcase breather pipe connected to the clean side. This not only reduces intake noise, but also increases water resistance. And the air filter is a foam type for premium filtering performance, that you can clean and reuse.

Sealed drive case (belt case) keeps out water and debris to minimize belt slippage. Special V-belt compartment drain plug requires no tools in the event that water enters the belt case. The frame members around the CVT case are now removable for easier access and improved serviceability

While we moved the air box, we also rerouted the V-belt intake and exhaust ducts. Both are mounted even higher to help reduce the opportunity for water and debris to enter the V-Belt housing.

Specially designed full stainless steel exhaust system features a forked header pipe for maximum power output and a screen type spark arrestor in the uffler to protect "Mother Nature".

Heavy-duty AT25 x 8-12 front and AT25 x 10-12 rear tires provide excellent off road traction and further boost ground clearance.
Note: although these tires look like ATV tires they have a much higher load rating than a standard

ATV tire. And the SE2 version adds aluminum wheels for a little added style.

Revised cargo bed can pack a total of 181kgs (400lbs) of payload. The dumping function is aided by spring loading to make tipping the dump box easier. The outside panels of the box are plastic to resist dents and rust. The inner box rear has been redesigned using fewer parts for a cleaner look. There are 4 tie points inside the cargo bed to insure load security.

Heavy duty rubber cargo bed mat helps to protect the cargo bed from scratches and dents.

Convenient, quick remove tailgate is supported by detachable "lanyards" just like a pick-up truck. The gate travel is limited by the lanyards.

Center mounted automotive style trailer hitch receiver is located at the rear of the frame. Towing capacity is 550kgs or 1212 lbs.

Large, specially designed bucket seats are extra plush and supportive for all-day driver and passenger comfort. Each seat has a small drain hole to allow water drainage in the event the unit is stored outside.
Full length heavy duty three piece skid plate and a heavy-duty front bumper protects the frame and lower components of the Rhino from rocks, logs and stumps. Rugged, large size plastic front and rear fenders with inner guards offer excellent mud/splash protection.

High tech, console mounted digital LCD meter with fuel gauge, speedometer, odometer, dual trip meters, hour meter, clock, battery voltmeter, 4WD status, transmission gear indicator, and Parking Brake indicator.

= LCD Fuel gauge

= Glove box lid

= Cup holders

Dust shield incorporated that seals against the front of the cargo bed, to reduce dust intrusion to cab area.

Convenient dash mounted, key operated, electric startingAutomatic decompression system means fast sure starts even in the winter

Automotive style shift lever (H-L-N-R) is conveniently mounted on a center console between the two bucket seats for easy access
